Welcome to Al-Anon & Alateen in San Francisco!
Al-Anon is an anonymous fellowship of friends and family of alcoholics. If you feel that your life has been affected by someone else's drinking, Al-Anon may be helpful for you. There are no dues or fees for membership. According to the Seventh Tradition, we are fully self-supporting through our own voluntary contributions.
You are welcome to explore this site and to check out meetings in your area.
Tuesday Night GLBT 7:15 schedule for the next few weeks
CPMC-Davies was not able to offer a room for a couple of nights in August, so this meeting will adhere to this schedule:
Tues Aug 3rd, we do have the room so the meeting is ON like donkey kong!!
Tues Aug 10th and 17th, the room is booked for hospital business and no other rooms are available, so our meeting will not be able to happen (at least not at Davies).
Wednesday Alateen Meeting Cancelled for the Summer!
The Wednesday Alateen meeting is cancelled for the summer months and will resume in late August. The Monday Alateen meeting at the Alano Club at 5 PM will continue uninterrupted. As always, the most current information can be found on the meeting list.
Sunday 7 PM Natives in Recovery Meeting has Closed
After a long run and great recovery for residents and outsiders, this meeting has closed by the wish of the Recovery Center. Thanks to Rick for all his great work to start and maintain this meeting! As always, the most current information can be found on the meeting list.
Alateen Service Workshop, August 8th!
Come hear a great speaker (open to all), and if you have any interest in serving as an Alateen sponsor, helping with outreach to local schools, or just want to find out more about Alateen, please come hear our Area Alateen Coordinator, Carla G., speak at the Monthly District 12 Speaker Meeting. She will share her story and talk about Alateen service, what it entails, what the kids get out of it, what the sponsors get out of it, and answer any questions you may have. She coordinates Alateen for all of Northern California and has offered to come speak in SF! The workshop will be at St. Francis Lutheran Church at 152 Church St. (near Market) on August 8th at 7 PM and will be followed by a potluck dinner and fellowship.
If you have 2 years in the Al-Anon program, consider becoming an Alateen sponsor. It's great service in which you get to help teens ages 12-20 run their own meetings and attend as a member of those meetings. You do NOT sponsor individual teenagers, and you do NOT run the meeting. Monthly Speaker Meeting Has Moved to Church/Market
The monthly District 12 Speaker Meeting is moving in May to St. Francis Lutheran Church at 152 Church St. (near Market). It will be at its normal location in April at Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church in Diamond Heights.
Each month, the speaker meeting is "hosted" by a group in District 12. If your group is interested please contact the committee at speakermeeting@al-anonsf.org. The meeting does not move locations, so your group does not invite everyone into your meeting space. Instead, your group agrees to read the scripts for the meeting and bring food for people to snack on during the fellowship period after the meeting is over. You do NOT have to line up a speaker, but if you would like to nominate someone, let the committee know. Thanks for your help.
Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed in the district office at 870 Market suite 318 any time and any day . We currently have 3 volunteers for an hour on Mon, Tue and Thu so Wed, Fri, Sat and Sun are in need of volunteers. Can you volunteer an hour or two to be the first person a newcomer speaks with when reaching out for help? If so, contact Tom K. our new Office Voluneer Coordinator at volunteers@al-anonsf.org or call District 12 office at 834-9940.

There are now Alateen meetings on Monday AND Wednesday nights from 5 to 6 PM at the Alano Club at 1748 Market St near Valencia. Please help us get the word out to 12 to 20 year olds that have been affected by someone else's drinking. (Here's a flier, click here!)
